Feds Uganda Ministries Horticlture Project is a Success!!
Feds Uganda Ministries started its Horticulture project in June with a total of twenty families. They were trained in agricultural crop managerial skills and later supplied with agricultural supplies such as collards, drum heads, onions, tomatoes, and eggplants seedlings. Nursery beds to main gardens were
established and monitored by women. The growth period was three months to harvesting.
This project has reduced on the escalating malnourished children who were dying at a premature stage due to poor feeding habits practiced at homesteads and also changed cultural believes that one found picking green is regarded to be very poor. The project did not help children alone, but the entire family members. On average five members per homesteads are rescued from malnutrition deficiencies. They are healthier with smiles.

Some families are stabilizing through income generating activities of harvests and able to raise other necessities for child growth and development.
Besides, the first trainees shall act as a role model in the community and shall empower the rest through training and equip them with agricultural skills. Our target is to meet 1000 persons rescued.
Challenges like calamities, such as hailstones, sunshine, caused the scorching of the leaves resulting in less harvest. But if we had irrigation systems perhaps the harvest would be in abundance.
