CHANGING OF COMMUNITY ATTITUDES:
It’s believed that eating greens among some cultures was seen as one of the low-income earners, especially the “poor”.
Most of the community members had developed a negative mind of not either eating or growing vegetables at their homesteads.
Through the initiatives of Feds Uganda Ministries’ efforts of carrying out horticulture sensitization in the community, Mary is a successful mother of five kids who managed to establish a nursery bed of drum heads. This allowed her to enable her family members to start eating greens as a supplementary source. She discovered that “greens or vegetables” are medicinal in our bodies because kids used to be sickly. Through such an impact, Mary is now a gospel transmitter of encouraging others to grow vegetables and understand their validity.
Mary is a model home to many homesteads who have dramatically changed their attitude and are now growing vegetables, feeding, and using them to raise income to support their families’ needs. In nutshell, the labor of love “Seed” however small you sow to a needy soul or family can save many lives from dying of ignorance. ” For your labor is not in vain” God bless!
