Mike Opondo and the rest of his brothers and sisters are orphans supported by their elderly grandmother. Both of Mike’s parents passed on HIV/ AIDS. These kids stay in an unfortunate state because they hardly have a simple meal to eat. Also, it’s unfortunate that the grandmother, can’t take care of their medical attention. She does not work. The family survives by offering casual labor for others where most times it isn’t paid, hence making life difficult. Also, it is unfortunate that these children don’t study. Even Mike, who used to be a sponsored child, has now been dropped when his sponsor was no
longer able to support him.
Feds Uganda Ministries, through its outreach mission, has reached out to this famil y, a family that lives in a single-roomed grass-thatched hut. Through supportive prayer and applying the interventions of Rescuing, Nurturing, and Discipling, the ministry provides corn flour, loaves of bread, beans, etc., as well as shares the Good Word with the family. The goal is to bring hope and happiness to vulnerable families like Mike’s. Remember not only this family, but most families in the community have the same circumstances, that have resulted in kids going to the streets.
Therefore I believe as God touches someone’s Spirit, to help these children, they will become ”written letters” in the community
by bringing happiness to many orphans/ vulnerable kids in Uganda Africa. One soul you save means a lot to the rest. God bless!
