Feds Uganda Ministries sponsors Oral Rehydration Therapy (ORT) training for community!
Feds Uganda Ministries trained forty women in rehabilitative management of dehydration as a result of an abnormal loss of body water as a result of diarrhea and or vomiting. The event was another health education training session Feds Uganda Ministries has been hiring qualified medical personnel to teach.
Oral Rehydration Therapy (ORT) is a type of fluid replacement used to prevent and treat dehydration, especially due to diarrhea. It involves drinking water with modest amounts of sugar and salts, specifically sodium and potassium. Usually, this is a sugar-salt formulation in powder form with clear instruments on how to mix it depending on the requirements of the sick child.

In case the standard packets are not available, a mother can use one teaspoonful of table salt and nine teaspoonfuls of sugar. This is dissolved in clean, boiled one liter of water.
Proper hygiene and sanitation in the participants own households was then reviewed. These sanitation “best” practices help reduce skin infectious diseases caused by poor health.
