Feds Uganda Ministries shares a meal with its community to celebrate the Easter Festival in Africa
Feds Uganda Ministries celebrated the Easter Festival in Africa by sharing a well-balanced meal with its community. This celebration meal’s purpose was two-fold. In addition to celebrating Easter, the meal was also used to sensitize people in the community on how to prepare a well-balanced meal.
In Africa including developing countries like Uganda, many families are affected with undernourishment or underfeeding. This commonly manifests as protein-energy malnutrition which results in a contribution 50% of all deaths of children under 5years of age, associated with malnutrition.
However, the most common forms of malnutrition are protein-energy malnutrition, and micronutrient deficiencies especially Vitamin A, Iodine and Iron. Through this mechanism of sensitizing the women, we expect children characterized by severe wasting of body fat and muscle and those with under weights, to gain their normal healthy growth.
To realize the objectives attained, there shall be constant home visitations, child growth monitoring and counseling as tools used to assess child growth and development. We totally appreciate our beloved donors for supportive care and love to make us achieve this activity with a lot of joy and honor.
