Dear friends,

My name is Akumu Beatrice a mother to Nabwire Patricia registration number 13.
I write to you in joy and appreciating you for loving us. Thank you for supporting my child, and changing my family’s life. May God reward you abundantly and protect you.

I am 25 years living with my husband and our one daughter. We thank God for her. We live in a temporary one roomed grass thatched hut, made out of mud. Siabona village is where I live and is found in Bwoya parish.  Doreen is my closest friend well as my neighbor. I also live near the church and the lake areas of Victoria. My neighborhood is peaceful and likes playing with my daughter, I feel great of her.

I try to earn some income through digging in other people’s gardens since our land is small. I receive 3000 shillings per day. I learnt to make  hand bags, table cloth and mats as skills obtained at program centre, am now able to earn some money as a living  to support my family through selling finished products. My husband does casual labour at times; he is paid 5000 shillings for the day he has worked sometimes not.

My baby’s name is Nabwire Patricia. She is thirteen months old now, born on 18/March2014. I love her very much. She used to be sick, making me worried; she is very fine nowadays. I feel excited because she is doing very well.  Nabwire is able to stand, says mama and daddy, smiles, and plays with others. I am happy that Nabwire is very strong and I see her potential lady and pray that God enables me and my husband to continue taking care of her.

Through the Friend of South Ministries Uganda programs, I am happy for it because am taught how to prepare balance meal for my family, am given medical care, how to write and read, how to praise and worship God, health screened, am cared for and the staff members are so supportive. I and my child we are now living a good healthy life.

I am glad for you. Friends of South Ministries Uganda is a blessing to me, my baby and other mothers with their babies to become healthy and happy. May God continue to use you peaceful and bless you. I always pray for you and ask you to continue pray for my husband to get money and buy land for digging also pray for God provision to continue using to keep and care for our beloved daughter Nabwire.
